Woodbridge man charged with the aggravated assault and murder of roommate

A Woodbridge man has been charged with the aggravated assault and murder of his 32-year-old roommate.

 

Corne Dionisio, 33, of Woodbridge, was charged on Nov. 9 with first-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault in the second degree, and two counts of aggravated assault in the third degree in the murder of Fidel Ruiz, 32, of Woodbridge, according to information provided by Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Director Robert Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department on Nov. 11.

 

Police responded to the home on Kennedy Place in Woodbridge at approximately 8 a.m. on Nov. 9 after they were alerted that the victim was unresponsive in the home, according to the statement. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The results of an autopsy by the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the manner of death to be homicide, the cause of death being homicidal asphyxiation, according to the statement.

 

Dionisio is currently being held in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.
