Two Metuchen residents charged with multiple burglaries in Metuchen and Edison

METUCHEN – After an investigation, detectives from Metuchen and the Edison burglary task force charged two Metuchen residents with multiple burglaries in the two municipalities, according to police.

A 42-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on Nov. 4 for a burglary the day before. Further investigation revealed the two were responsible for four burglaries in Metuchen and two burglaries in Edison, police said.

During one of the burglaries in Metuchen, a handgun was allegedly taken from the residence, police said.

The suspects were chared with six counts of burglary and theft, possession of burglary tools, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes, police said.
