East Brunswick police holiday toy drive will benefit David’s Touch Foundation

EAST BRUNSWICK–Looking to bring more holiday cheer to some special children, the East Brunswick Police Department launched its toy drive to benefit the David’s Touch Foundation.

“We are excited about hosting this toy drive through David’s Touch Foundation because it is a local organization that benefits hospitalized children and it is an opportunity for the police department to partner with the community to help spread joy during the holiday season,” Patrolman Michael McGlynn said in a statement from the department.

Through noon on Dec. 15, residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys in their original packaging at the East Brunswick Police Department’s headquarters, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center Dr.

All toys will be hand-delivered to hospitalized children who are unable to spend the holiday at home.

“David’s Touch Foundation is a local non-profit organization, founded in memory of a courageous young boy, David. David passed away at the age of nine, shortly after being diagnosed with lymphoma. David’s journey inspires the mission of the foundation: to bring hope and joy to children at their greatest time of need. Through this mission, Founder Jenny Rosado keeps her son David’s memory and spirit alive,” McGlynn, who is also the PBA Local 145 president, said in the statement.

The toys will be delivered to:

  • Bristol-Myer’s Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital
  • PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital
  • Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey
  • Saint Peter’s University Hospital
  • Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
  • St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital
  • Hackensack University Medical Center

“We are grateful to have the opportunity through David’s Touch Foundation to help bring some holiday spirit to hospitalized children and their families who are facing unimaginable hardships,” McGlynn said in the statement.
