Three pounds of marijuana, cash and weapon seized in Lawrence drug raid

More than three pounds of marijuana, cash and a semi-automatic handgun were seized in a drug raid at a Princeton Avenue residence in Lawrence Township on Nov. 19, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Nazier McKoy, 23, of Princeton Avenue, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon while in the course of committing a narcotics offense, plus additional narcotics offenses, the prosecutor’s office said.

Police carried out a search warrant at the residence and seized 3.2 pounds of marijuana, $2,435 in cash and a .40-caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun. The marijuana had a street value of $7,500.

The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force was tipped off about the sale of marijuana at the Princeton Avenue residence. The task force launched an investigation, which took two weeks to complete.

Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, the Mercer County SWAT team, Homeland Security and the Lawrence, Princeton and Hamilton police departments assisted with the investigation, under the command of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Investigations Unit.
