Fords couple discovered dead in apparent murder-suicide

WOODBRIDGE – A 78-year-old man and his 77-year-old wife were found deceased in their residence in the Fords section of Woodbridge in an apparent murder-suicide.

Woodbridge police responded to the single-family home at 17 Kilfoyle Ave. at 8:52 a.m. on Dec. 6 when they found Joanne Perhacs with a single gunshot wound to the head, according to a statement provided by Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Director Robert Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department.

Bertlan Perhacs was located close by his wife with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the statement. 

Both were pronounced dead at 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 6.

Autopsies of both individuals will be conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner.
