Once again, Freehold Borough will host a free rabies vaccination clinic for cats
and dogs on Jan. 11 from 9-11 a.m. at the Freehold Borough firehouse, 49 W. Main St.

Although the rabies vaccination clinic is held in Freehold Borough, it is open to
residents of any municipality. You do not need to bring any paperwork with you, nor
does your animal need to be licensed in order to be vaccinated.

For registration purposes you will be asked your name, address and telephone
number, the name and breed of your pet, his/her age, whether or not he/she is neutered or
spayed and whether this is the animal’s first rabies vaccination.

The vaccination offers protection for your pet, family and the community. The
animal must be at least 3 months old in order to be vaccinated and the first vaccination
for an animal is good for one year. All subsequent vaccinations offer protection for three
years.

There is no limit as to the number of animals you can bring to have vaccinated.
Dogs must be on a short leash and cats must be in a carrier.

For convenience purposes, dog and cat licensing will also be offered during the clinic.
Any Freehold Borough resident can register their cat(s) or dog(s). Please provide
proof of spay or neuter dates. License fees apply: dogs, $14.20 or $11.20 if spayed or
neutered, and cats, $10. Cash or check only.

For more information, call the Freehold Borough Health Department at 732-462-7057,
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
