Victim of New Year’s Day fire in Fords identified

WOODBRIDGE – A 35-year-old man has been identified as the victim who perished in a Woodbridge fire on Jan. 1.

Jedidiah Timm, 35, of the Fords section of Woodbridge, has been identified by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as the victim who was discovered shortly after the fire, which occurred in the area of Dunbar Avenue and Poplar Street at approximately 5:41 p.m. on New Year’s Day, according to information released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Woodbridge Police Department on Jan. 9.

The fire occurred in a detached garage that was not part of the prime residence, officials said.

Members of the Woodbridge Fire Department, the Woodbridge Police Department, the Middlesex County Office of the Fire Marshal and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene. No firefighters or police officers were injured during the incident, according to the statement.
