The board held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 2 and the three winning candidates from the Nov. 5 election – incumbents Elena O’Sullivan and Jennifer Patten, and newcomer Debra Costanza – were sworn in to begin serving three-year terms.

O’Sullivan joined the board in 2017 and Patten joined the board in 2012.

After all members were seated, the board held elections for the positions of president and vice president.

Michelle Lambert was nominated to serve as president in 2020 and elected by her colleagues. Lambert has been a board member since 2010.

Patten, who served as vice president in 2019, was nominated to hold the position for 2020 and was elected by her fellow board members.

Lambert, Patten, O’Sullivan and Costanza are joined on the school board by Michael Amoroso, Mary Cozzolino, Michael Matthews, Kay Poklemba-Holtz and Kerry Vendittoli.

A budget for the 2020-21 school year is being developed by the district’s administration. Budget workshops that are open to the public will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 and 7 p.m. March 3 at the school district offices on Stillwells Corner Road.

Board members may adopt a tentative budget for the upcoming school year during their public meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 10.
