Jackson planners set hearing dates for development applications

JACKSON – The Jackson Planning Board has reorganized for 2020 and scheduled hearing dates for a number of development applications.

The board held its reorganization meeting on Jan. 6.

When nominations were opened for chairman, Robert Hudak was nominated to once again serve in that position.

In a roll call vote, board members Timothy Dolan, Jeffrey Riker, Joseph Riccardi, Leonard Haring Jr., Township Administrator Terence Wall, Township Councilman Martin Flemming and Hudak voted “yes.”

Riccardi was then nominated to serve as the board’s vice chairman and was elected in a unanimous vote.

No applications were scheduled to be heard at the reorganization meeting. However, there were applications from 2019 that were carried or had yet to be scheduled for an initial hearing in 2020.

The following applications were discussed:

• Solomon Zolty proposes a major subdivision on South Hope Chapel Road to subdivide five lots into 12 residential lots and one storm water lot. The application will be heard on Feb. 3.

• Grawtown Acres LLC proposes a major subdivision on Grawtown Road to include nine residential lots. Initial testimony will be heard on Feb. 3.

• Jackson Parke South proposes the construction of 549 single-family and multi-family units on a 129-acre tract off West Veterans Highway. The project would include 100 affordable housing units. The application was carried to March 16.

• Aisle 9 Grocery Store is proposed on East Veterans Highway and will present initial testimony on April 6.

• Cedar Swamp Plaza LLC proposes to construct five self-storage buildings on Cedar Swamp Road. The applicant is expected to correct the testimony of a traffic engineer and provide a certified traffic expert regarding this application which was approved on May 20, 2019. The application will be heard on April 20.
