Hillsborough’s Psemeneki wins county wrestling championship

Cole Psemeneki of Hillsborough High School wrestled to a championship on his his team’s home mat.

Psemeneki captured the 113-pound class championship when the Somerset County Tournament was wrestled on Jan. 11 at Hillsborough High School.

Psemeneki won by a 6-1 decision over Dylan Kolakowski of Watchung Hills Regional High School in the 113-pound final.

The other top-four placewinner for Hillsborough was Ryan Oram, who finished fourth at 132 pounds. He was defeated by a technical fall in 3:46 by Tyler Austin of Bernards High School in the third-place bout.

Watchung Hills captured its third straight county tournament championship when it recorded 194.5 points. Runner-up Somerville High School scored 153.5 points. Hillsborough finished 10th with 58 points.
