Manalapan Police Beat, Jan. 29

The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents occurred in the municipality:

• On Jan. 9 at 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a business on Route 9 in reference to a report of a theft. A representative of the business told the officers a white male removed two guitars from the store and fled the scene in a vehicle heading north on Route 9.

• On Jan. 9 at 4:53 a.m., officers responded to the area of Parsonage Way in reference to a report of a parking complaint. An investigation determined the driver of a vehicle, identified as a 27-year-old male resident of New York City, was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The man was transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

• On Jan. 8 at 2:49 a.m., officers responded to a home on Ogden Lane in reference to a report of an attempted motor vehicle burglary. A Manalapan resident told the officers that moments before police were called, an unknown individual was observed on camera entering an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and attempting to start the vehicle. The individual was unsuccessful and fled the area in a waiting vehicle.
