The victory lifted Monroe’s record to 11-1.

“I’m really proud of how the girls have been playing,” said Monroe coach Leigh Vogtman. “All very coachable kids. They have really good team chemistry and work well together on the court.”

Monroe’s leading scorer, Madison Carey, was nothing but stellar again on the court for the Falcons, scoring a game-high 23 points (four three-pointers).

Monroe hit a total of eight three-pointers in the contest.

Senior Brielle Fitzpatrick scored 11 points in the victory for Monroe, while teammate Nina Branchizio recorded 10 points.

Both Branchizio and Fitzpatrick knocked home a huge basket in the final seconds of the first and second quarter, respectively, to help Monroe take a 29-15 lead into the half.

Junior Joanna Giustino gave Monroe four players in double figures during the victory by scoring eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter.

East Brunswick, which fell to 6-6, was led by senior Brianna Silwinski, who hit for 16 points.
