Rumson-Fair Haven ice hockey roars to big victory over Wall

There was an offensive clinic displayed on the ice at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall Township by the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School ice hockey team in its contest against Wall Township High School on Jan. 24.

The Bulldogs had seven different players score a goal in their 8-2 victory over Wall to improve to 9-1-1 on the season.

“It’s a testament to our team to have seven different guys get on the goal sheet,” said Rumson-Fair Haven coach Eric Zullo. “We play a much better style of hockey when we’re more team oriented. We moved the puck really well in the second and third period.”

Senior Rowan Goldin had a big night for the Bulldogs, scoring a game-high two goals and had an assist in the victory.

Fellow classmate Sam Catalano dished out two assists and tallied a goal to help Rumson-Fair Haven win its third consecutive game. Catalano now has 10 goals and a team-high 13 assists on the season.

Sophomore Connor Spagnuola also had two assists and a goal scored in the contest for the Bulldogs, while teammates Charlie Tallman and Jack Whitelaw both recorded an assist and a goal in the victory.

Junior Ryan Croddick scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season in the victory for Rumson-Fair Haven.

The second period was a big one for the Bulldogs, who scored four goals in the period to take a 5-1 lead into the third period.

Rumson-Fair Haven is averaging over five goals a game this season.

The Bulldogs will look to keep their winning streak going on Jan. 27 when they play Southern Regional High School.
