Manalapan Police Beat, Feb. 5

The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents occurred in the township:

• On Jan. 19 at 1:33 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Taylorr Lake Court in reference to a report of a burglary. A resident of Woodbridge reported that sometime between Jan. 12 and Jan. 19, an unknown individual entered the home and removed copper piping from the walls, causing extensive damage.

• On Jan. 18 at 2:50 p.m., officers responded to a business on Gordons Corner Road in reference to a report of an attempted burglary. The owner reported that on Jan. 15 at about 10:30 p.m., an unknown male was observed on surveillance video attempting to forcefully gain access through the back doors of two separate businesses.

• On Jan. 17 at 7:28 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of a department store on Route 9 in reference to an incident of theft. Upon investigation, it was determined four individuals removed approximately $3,300 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for the merchandise. Police said three people were arrested and transported to police headquarters, processed and transported to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, after being served with warrants. The individuals who were arrested were identified as a 36-year-old female from Somerset, a 29-year-old female from Plainfield and a 29-year-old male from Plainfield. The fourth individual was identified as a male juvenile who was arrested, processed and released into the custody of a family member.

• On Jan. 16 at 8:33 a.m., officers responded to a business on Gordons Corner Road in reference to a report of burglary. A Hazlet resident reported that sometime between
10 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7:57 a.m. Jan. 16, an unknown individual forced entry into the business and removed money from a cash register.
