Cheers to The Bachelor

for delivering its most diverse group of contestants ever. TV’s greatest comedy- disguised-as-a-dating show has killed it with a very impressive group of possible paramours for Pilot Pete including Alexa Caves, Eunice Cho and Jasmine Nguyen in Season 24.

Jeers to Modern Family

for offing more kin off camera. First, they killed Shelley Long’s Mama Pritchett without even a farewell episode and now, they’ve gone and done the same to Fred Willard’s Frank Dunphy, who deserves so much more than an off-screen death after raising a great guy like Phil (Ty Burrell).

Jeers to Homeland
for testing our loyalties. As much as we love Claire Danes, the idea that her Carrie Mathison would be allowed anywhere near a new CIA mission after being held captive for so long is almost as baffling as the fact that this deeply compromised character has even survived eight seasons.

Cheers to Dare Me
for bringin’ it. Darker than your typical cheerleader tale, the USA drama based on Megan Abbott’s novel gives #squadgoals a demented twist by turning the lead pom-pom shaker (Marlo Kelly) into a potentially homicidal and definitely damaged mean girl–one you’ll hate rooting for.
