Hightstown police report that body is found in Peddie Lake

The body of a 34-year-old East Windsor Township man who had been reported missing on Jan. 25 was found in Peddie Lake shortly after 3 p.m. on Feb. 2, according to the Hightstown Police Department.

A Ward Street resident called to report a body in the water, police said. When officers arrived, they found a body near the bridge on Ward Street.

The man was positively identified by family as Geovanny Urgiles, who had been reported as a missing person to the East Windsor Township Police Department. Officers from the East Windsor Township Police Department were on hand and assisted at the scene.

The Hightstown Fire Department Dive Team and Water Rescue unit helped with the recovery, along with Robbinsville EMS Station 40 and paramedics from Capital Health Systems.

There were no signs of foul play, and the man’s body was turned over to the Mercer County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, and the investigation will remain active until that determination has been made, police said.
