The Hillsborough Democratic Organization has officially launched a candidate search for the November 2020 Hillsborough Township Committee election.

“If you have ever wanted to make a difference in our community, this is the year to run for office,” said Hillsborough Democratic Committee Chairman Ron Yoder. “Our 2020 Hillsborough Township Committee candidates will run on the same ticket as the democratic presidential nominee, United States Sen. Cory Booker, Congressman Tom Malinowski, and County candidates. Interest in this election will be unprecedented.

“Even if you have never considered running for office before, or have been on the fence, now is the best time to get off the sidelines and make an impact,” Yoder said.

Two township committee seats are on the ballot this fall. Potential election winners would join democratic committeewoman Olivia Holmes to form a democratic majority on the Hillsborough Township Committee.

“I would encourage anyone who is interested in running to reach out and learn more about this remarkable opportunity to help build an even better Hillsborough,” Holmes said in a statement.

Interested candidates should send a resume and letter of interest to chairman Ronald Yoder at chair@borodems.org by Feb. 15. All qualified candidates will be considered by the Hillsborough Democratic Organization Candidate Screening Committee

Direct questions to chair@borodems.org or call Chairman Yoder at 908-256-0973.
