Old Bridge fatal hit-and-run under investigation

OLD BRIDGE – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run, which took place on Route 34 and Triangle Drive in Old Bridge on Feb. 5.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Richard Lockwood III, 69, of Old Bridge.  The victim was pronounced deceased at Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge at 8:28 pm., according to a statement provided by Acting Middlesex County Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief William Volkert of the Old Bridge Police Department.

The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Greg Miller of the Old Bridge Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

A preliminary investigation determined the victim was struck in the roadway by a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 34 in the area of Triangle Drive.
