A man who presented a forged prescription for cough medicine containing codeine at a Hopewell Borough pharmacy is being sought by the Hopewell Township Police Department.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 22-year-old Mamady Danfakha, who presented the forged prescription to a pharmacy employee on Feb. 1, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

Danfakha, who lives in The Bronx, N.Y., entered the pharmacy and presented the prescription to the pharmacy employee, police said. The employee filled the prescription and Danfakha left the store.

The employee recognized a similar prescription from the same doctor earlier in the week, and realized the prescription that Danfakha presented was a forgery, police said.

The warrant for Danfakha’s arrest charges him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, forgery and obtaining a prescribed medication with a forged prescription, police said.

The case will be heard in Mercer County Superior Court.
