MANALAPAN – An issue with a legal notice that was published by an applicant led to the postponement of a public hearing in a Manalapan Zoning Board of Adjustment case.

Elton Point Partnership has applied to the zoning board for a use variance on a 23.5-acre property on the westbound side of Route 537 (Monmouth Road) near Shira Lane.

The application is for the construction of two buildings on the site (one containing 30,000 square feet and the other containing 63,000 square feet) for a total of 93,000 square feet, to be used for flex space or office/warehouse use which is not permitted in the R-AG/4 zoning district, according to a legal notice the applicant published.

The applicant is also seeking variance relief for building height where 35 feet is permitted and 40 feet is proposed.

A public hearing was scheduled for the zoning board’s Feb. 20 meeting. During the meeting, an issue with the applicant’s legal notice arose and the public hearing for Elton Point Partnership was rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. May 7 at the Manalapan municipal building, Route 522.
