Charles “Chuck” Raymond Patterson, 63

Charles “Chuck” Raymond Patterson, 63, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on 22 February 2020 surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, 29 February 2020 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. Visitations will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Chuck was born on 26 November 1956 in Princeton, NJ and was a 1975 graduate of Hightstown High School. Though he inherited a love for aviation from his father, Chuck was born with a hearing impairment, which many thought would preclude him from following his passion. As a fiercely determined soul, he would not let that stop him and eventually became a pilot of 31 years at UPS based in Louisville, KY.

In addition to his role as an MD-11 Captain, Chuck served as an active and earnest member of the Independent Pilots Association (IPA), culminating in his tenure as the IPA Vice President until 2007.

He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Frank and Nelta Bauerla and Bill and Tina Brink; grandparents Colleen and Emory Armes and Edith and Raymond Patterson; as well as two very dear aunts, Lynda Patterson and Dorothy (Patterson) Hovi.

He is survived by his ever-loving wife, Constance L. (Bauerla) Patterson; parents, Charles and Dorothy Patterson; children, Sandy Rekus (Scott), Aaron Patterson (Kaori), Kristi Martin (Reed), Mary Mour, and Bradley Mour; grandchildren, Delaney, Gavin, Dylan, John, Lauren, Kaleigh, Ashlynn, Benjamin, and Alexander; sister Susan Schreib (Rich); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and faithful little buddy, Rocky.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the IPA Foundation, which is dedicated to providing for the well-being of children with exceptional medical requirements. Online condolences may be made online through http://www.ipapilot.org/foundation.
