Hopewell police blotter

A Hopewell Borough resident reported that someone used his credit card information to make several purchases between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 without his authorization. The incident was reported on Feb. 11.

A Hopewell Township resident lost $18,800 to a scammer who told him that his Social Security information was compromised. The victim was told to purchase store gift cards and forward the information to the caller, which he did. The incident was reported on Feb. 11.

A set of ear pods belonging to a Hopewell Valley Central High School student was stolen from the victim’s unsecured locker at the high school on Feb. 11. The ear pods were valued at $170.

Sometime between Feb. 12 and Feb. 13, a wallet containing credit cards and identification was stolen from the victim’s pocketbook at Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell. The wallet is valued at $200.

A thief stole a wallet, containing cash, credit cards and identification, that had been left at a Washington Crossing-Pennington Road business. The total value of the stolen property is $325. The incident was reported on Feb. 12.

A 43-year-old Phillipsburg woman was arrested on outstanding warrants from the Raritan Township and Phillipsburg municipal courts after she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Bear Tavern Road on Feb. 16. She was was also issued a summons for failure to wear a seat belt.

Someone removed the catalytic converter from a car while it was parked at a Route 31 business for repairs between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. The part was valued at $500.

A 32-year-old Hopewell Borough man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for $3,500 from the City of Trenton Municipal Court on Feb. 17. A police officer was conducting an investigation at an East Broad Street house when he encountered the man.
