Edison teen fatally struck by NJ Transit Train

EDISON – A New Jersey Transit Train fatally struck a 16-year-old township male in the vicinity of Parsonage Road, according to Lisa Torbic, senior public information officer for NJ Transit.

A Northeast Corridor train, which departed from Penn Station New York fatally struck the teen pedestrian at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 25. No injuries were reported to the approximately 1,100 customers or crew on board the train headed to Trenton, Torbic said.

The Northeast Corridor rail service was temporarily suspended westbound, but then resumed. NJ Transit Police is leading the investigation.
