Manalapan edges Princeton in boys’ basketball state tournament

Manalapan High School held off Princeton High School to secure a 60-54 overtime victory in the opening round of the Central Jersey, Group 4 state sectional boys’ basketball tournament on March 3 in Manalapan.

Manalapan’s offense was led by senior Ryan Knorr, who produced 24 points and six assists, while fellow senior Blake Henis recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.

Senior Gefen Bar-Cohen paced Princeton with 20 points, while senior Jack Suozzi collected 14 points and junior Ethan Guy produced 13 points for the Little Tigers.

Manalapan is 15-9 entering its state sectional quarterfinal against Middletown High School South on Thursday in Middletown.

Princeton ended its season at 13-12.
