While there have been no reported cases of coronavirus in East Windsor Township, officials are not taking any chances and have suspended some activities and reduced the hours for others.

Although COVID-19 poses the greatest risk to older people and those with underlying health conditions, East Windsor Township officials said everyone in the community must take precautions to minimize the risk of spreading it.

For those reasons, the East Windsor Senior Center suspended all activities, programs and trips at the end of the day March 13. The senior center will remain open and staffed weekdays, but it has shorter hours. It will be open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Mercer County Nutrition Program, which also operated at the East Windsor Senior Center at 40 Lanning Boulevard, was suspended on March 13.

The East Windsor Municipal Building at 16 Lanning Boulevard remains open, but residents are encouraged to conduct business with the township by telephone at 609-443-4000; by email at www.east-windsor.nj.us; or by regular mail.

Visitors to the municipal building must stop at the front desk to explain the purpose of their visit, and they will be assisted at that point.

The East Windsor Township Municipal Court at 80 One Mile Road has canceled court sessions for March 16 and March 23. Municipal Court operations in New Jersey have been suspended for two weeks under the March 14 order issued by New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Stuart Rabner.

The East Windsor Regional School District will dismiss schools early on March 16, and being to implement remote learning for students on March 17 for a two-week period that ends March 29.
