JACKSON – As a precautionary measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus and to protect the health of residents, the Jackson Senior Center will be closed to the public effective 4:30 p.m. March 16 until further notice, according to municipal officials. Staff will be reporting during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and may be contacted by phone at 732-928-2313. Staff will be doing wellness checks and provide assistance via telephone. All activities and trips are cancelled. Refunds will be issued. Bus transportation will be limited to grocery shopping and medical appointments. The nutrition site at the senior center provided by Community Services Inc. will be closed from March 16-27. Community Services Inc. will deliver meals at home through its Meals On Wheel program. This closure will be re-evaluated by township officials; during this time the senior center will be fully cleaned and sanitized before reopening, according to a press release.
New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Chief Administrator Sue Fulton has announced that all New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission agency and road testing facilities will be closed effective immediately as a measure to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. Officials anticipate re-opening on March 30, according to a press release. All driver’s licenses, non-driver IDs, vehicle registrations and inspection stickers expiring before May 31 have been extended by two months. Most renewals, replacements, changes of address and other transactions can be processed online at NJMVC.gov
