Red Bank Public library is open but announces some event cancellations

The Red Bank Public library is actively trying to reduce the spread of the (COVID-19) coronavirus as much as possible.

The library as a whole will be open as of now; however, many precautionary measures will be taken, according to a press release from the library.

There will be many quiet rooms for people to do work in and they will not have to be in a densely populated area, the press release reported.

Also, the public can hold items by visiting the catalog in order to not have to go into the library to find it.

All events from Monday, March 16-Friday March 21 are cancelled to prevent large gatherings and reduce interactions. All items will be cleaned with disinfecting wipes and the desks will be cleaned a few times a day.

If the public would feel safer at the comfort of their own home there is a 24-hour online library that has ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and streaming music. There will be storytime for the children to watch on the Red Bank Public Library Facebook page.

Additionally, on the Youtube account, “Red Bank Library” there will be various taped shows like “Let’s Talk About Race” and “Sustainable Red Bank.”
