MONROE – Monroe currently has three positive cases of coronavirus, part of the 75 total cases in Middlesex County and 890 throughout the state.

“We are doing everything in our power to keep our community safe while providing for the various needs of our residents,” Mayor Gerald Tamburro said in a statement on March 20.  “Everyone should stay home.”

The MyInstaDoc facility located at 298 Applegarth Road is testing patients for coronavirus.  Patients under 65 years of age must pre-register at www.myinstadocmonroe.com before arriving at the facility.  Patients age 65 and over will be processed on-site if necessary.  Patients must have symptoms, including fever, or have been exposed to an infected person, according to the statement. Call 609-207-3220 to speak with a medical professional.

The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management is compiling a list of volunteers to help deliver food and necessities to Monroe Township homebound residents in the event the coronavirus emergency becomes even more severe. Individuals ages 18-55 with a valid drivers’ license who not have presented with illness of any kind within the last 15 days are eligible to apply. Send your name and cell number to volunteer@monroetwp.com.
