Woodbridge reports eight positive COVID-19 cases from one nursing home; Edison reports a recovery

Eight of the 19 people confirmed positive for the coronavirus in Woodbridge Township came from the St. Joseph’s Senior Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility.

Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac, in his daily report to the public on the pandemic, said one of the two newest cases – a 46-year-old resident – was reported from the facility on March 21.

Edison Township also was notified of additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Edison Office of Emergency Management. The total number of positive coronavirus cases in the township is now 12.

The cases are a 74-year-old male and a 69-year-old female. Additionally, township officials were notified that a previously reported positive case is now reported as recovered.

Edison Township was not provided any other information regarding the new cases.
