OLD BRIDGE – Twelve total positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Old Bridge, after four more were announced on March 22, according to Mayor Owen Henry.
“We continue to pray for the affected residents safe and speedy recovery,” Henry said, adding he hoped people were making “the best of your weekend and spending with your families as we enter the first full day of the governor’s ‘Stay at Home Order.'”
Gov. Phil Murphy announced a statewide Stay at Home Order and the closure of non-essential retail businesses, which became effective at 9 p.m. on March 21.
Henry noted officials have also received information the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new 45-minute test for COVID-19, which is scheduled to be delivered to hospitals next week. The Bergen County testing site performed 250 tests and the Monmouth County site in Holmdel is scheduled to open on March 23.
“At present time, there are no travel bans on New Jersey roadways,” Henry said. “However, the governor requests that everyone stay home unless they need to go out for essentials.”
