Food bank open, parks closed in North Brunswick

NORTH BRUNSWICK – The food bank is open but parks are closed in North Brunswick as the coronavirus crisis continues.

The latest numbers released in the afternoon of March 23 include seven positive cases in North Brunswick of the 158 cases in Middlesex County and the 1,914 cases in New Jersey. There are roughly 35,476 cases across the United States being reported, according to information released by the township.

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services has closed all parks. Do not remove caution tape from playground areas. Playground units will be opened when safe  operation is in place. For updates, visit www.facebook.com/NorthBrunswickTownshipDPRCS/

 

Food bank hours are 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays. Services are available to food bank clients and North Brunswick residents only; identification will be required. Enter the parking lot to the Municipal Building, 710 Hermann Road, near the fountain. Signs will be posted.

 

The Food Bank is accepting cash and gift card donations in lieu of food during the emergency. Gift cards or checks made payable to the North Brunswick Food Bank may be mailed to the attention of the mayor’s office at 710 Hermann Road.
