MIDDLETOWN – On March 23, the Middletown Township Department of Health and Social Services reported a total of 18 COVID-19 cases, including a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in the Lincroft section of the municipality.
Direct contact persons, organizations and workplaces will be notified by health officials as they receive information from the patients. To date, the Health Department has received 53 negative cases from laboratory reports, according to a press release from the township.
To continue to maintain a safe environment for the community, all public access restrictions to municipal buildings and programs will be extended through April 5, according to the press release.
This includes the Middletown Township Public Library, the Middletown Arts Center and Middletown recreation facilities. All play structures/playgrounds are closed, fields and courts are closed to any organized or unorganized team play, practices or training, and all permits have been canceled and the lights have been turned off. Per Gov. Phil Murphy’s Executive Order, all golf courses are closed, however, parks remain open.
