NORTH BRUNSWICK – To combat the isolation and boredom felt during the coronavirus pandemic, North Brunswick is offering community-building activities for its residents.

Although playground units, picnic groves, tennis courts and basketball courts are closed at this time, residents can use paths for walking, biking and catching fresh air while keeping a social distance of six feet, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services.

Township residents are encouraged to join a rock project, spreading words of hope and encouragement. Design a rock with a special message, place your name on the back of the stone, and then seal the rock so the message is not washed away. A notification will be posted where to leave stones in order to make a connecting path throughout the community.

Chalk designs on sidewalks and driveways are sending messages of hope as well. The designs will be hung in the Township of North Brunswick’s Municipal Lobby and winners will be announced the beginning of May. Send designs to
