SOUTH BRUNSWICK – South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka, who is also the township’s director of the Office of Emergency Management, noted some of the good work that has been taking place around town.
- The South Brunswick School District collected all its unused medical supplies and donated them to EMS and the police department. They donated more than 7,000 pairs of gloves, 800 surgical adult masks, 400 pediatric surgical masks, multiple thermometers and seven emergency medical bags.
- South Brunswick Social Services conducted a food and fundraising effort. The Food Pantry collected thousands of food items and more than $20,000 in financial donations. Local businesses including Confectionately Yours assisted in raising funds.
- Four Seasons Development of South Brunswick, with the assistance of the South Brunswick Public Works staff, donated food to the food pantry.
- Café Amici and residents teamed up to deliver meals to the entire Emergency Room staff at Raritan Bay Medical Center.
- Wawa, Capriccio Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, Harbor Chase and the Islamic Society of Central New Jersey have all donated food to the police department.
- A local group of residents collected and delivered supplies to the nurses at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
- Home Depot, Wakefern Food, Coca-Cola, L’Oreal and Tris Pharma have all donated masks and supplies.
“This week has been challenging for everyone, but as a community we are getting through it together. There have been a lot of people helping out and I want to make sure the community knows about all the positive actions people are taking,” Hayducka said in a prepared statement.
