The East Brunswick Police Department issued the following statement after Chief Frank LoSacco spoke about people discarding their used masks and gloves in grocery store parking lots:

“Many people across New Jersey are wearing protective gloves and masks while grocery shopping. While East Brunswick strongly supports and encourages this, it is very unfortunate that some people are taking the masks and gloves that they are using to protect themselves and are simply throwing them on the ground. This is careless and selfish and puts others at risk.

East Brunswick police will be actively patrolling and issuing summonses to anyone found discarding materials on the ground.”
