WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge Township officials reported 22 new positive COVID-19 cases, its largest number of cases in 24 hours, according to Mayor John E. McCormac in his daily report on April 1.
“As experts have been warning it will get worse before they get better, the Woodbridge numbers prove that,” McCormac said, adding the total number cases in the township total 112. “The new cases continue to be split about evenly between male and female ranging in ages from 25 to 69.”
McCormac said there continues to be no concentration of cases in any particular area of town.
“We take some solace into the fact we still trail the state averages,” he said. “In addition only 12 people out of the 112 impacted so far have required hospitalization versus 84 who have not and are recovering at home. We do not know the status of the other 16.”
The township also saw two people who passed away after diagnosed with the coronavirus including a 93-year-old female on March 31 and a male, who passed away a few days ago. The township does not have information on the age of the male, the mayor said.
