Police Chief Michael Biennas, who is also the coordinator of the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management, issued the following statement:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Monroe Township community for answering our call earlier in the week seeking donations of Personal Protective Equipment.  We received an abundance of well needed supplies from residents and businesses alike.  It’s refreshing to know that we can always count on the Monroe Township community to pull together under difficult circumstances,” he said. “In the same vein as the community rallied to provide supplies, I am imploring all residents to do what is being asked now: stay at home. We need to maintain adequate social distances and refrain from social gatherings. During this public health emergency, my officers are prepared to curtail all gatherings until this order is lifted – not because we want to but because we have to – for the safety of all.”
