In a salute to the hard work and tremendous sacrifice being made by the staff and employees at JFK Medical Center, the Edison Office of Emergency Management has organized a show of appreciation to take place outside the hospital at 3 p.m. on April 10 at the hospital at 65 James St., Edison.

The event will include Edison police and fire and the Middlesex County Police and Fire Pipes and Drums. The Edison OEM has also invited police and fire from surrounding towns to join in saluting their fellow heroes on the frontlines during this time of crisis.

Decals by Design and Costco in Edison will also be showing their support for this salute to heroes with donations for the event.

In addition, tonight, April 9, at 6:45 p.m., firetrucks, police cars, EMS and bagpipers will surround Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy for a clap out for all team members of the hospital.

Reminder: Social distancing orders are still in effect, as is the need to wear protective masks when in public.
