WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge officials reported 35 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the township to 734, according to Mayor John McCormac in his daily report on April 14.
“We have had 75 cases in the last three days combined compared to three individual days in the last week with 77, 80 and 87 so the numbers really are starting to look better,” he said. “We can’t lose sight though of those 35 people from Woodbridge who are now sick so please do not forget to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. There are still no trends to report.”
McCormac, in his report, urged residents, especially seniors, to be careful about scams and to avoid giving out personal, financial or banking information over the phone or through the mail. He said scammers are also calling people to offer items from supplies, test kits or drugs to fight COVID-19 to food, masks, sanitizer or even toilet paper for money.
He also urged neighbors to check on people who live alone and cannot leave their homes.
McCormac said they have been seeing a lot of car parades for kids with birthdays and couples with anniversaries in the township. He said all is “OK” while following social distancing guidelines.
In his report, the mayor acknowledged the Woodbridge Rotary Club, Gershon Alexander and the CPV power plant for their monetary donations. In addition, he acknowledged Arianna’s Grand Woodbridge, D’Italia Restaurant and a local resident for their donations of food to the township’s food pantries.
