food drive

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – The township has been informed by the Middlesex County Health Department that six additional residents have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases in South Brunswick to 256.

They range in age from 38 to 61 years old; three are male and three are female, according to information provided by the township on April 22.

April 21 was the first day of the South Brunswick Drive-Thru Food Pantry and it was a huge success. There were little waiting times and all the people with appointments were supplied with food. The second drive-thru day is April 23.

The South Brunswick School District, as per the state National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, is feeding any students in need regardless if they previously registered for the food program.

Lunches can be picked up at two locations from 8-10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Crossroads South Middle School Main Entrance, 195 Major Road, Monmouth Junction; and Greenbrook Elementary Main Entrance B, 23 Roberts St., Kendall Park.

The school district also send school buses out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to drop off food at the following locations:

  • 9:15-9:30 a.m. Kingston Terrace at the entrance to pool/clubhouse
  • 9:45-10 a.m. South Ridge Woods at the pool/clubhouse
