Average age of total positive COVID-19 cases in Monroe is 65 for women, 63 for men

MONROE – Monroe officials reported 15 new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 413, according to the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management on April 25.

The cases range in age from 16 to 96. The cases include nine males – a 16 year old, two 19 year olds, a 28 year old, a 36 year old, a 41 year old, a 57 year old, a 73 year old, a 74 year old and six females – a 25 year old, a 52 year old, a 57 year old, an 89 year old, a 91 year old, and a 96 year old.

The total COVID-19 deaths is 50, 38 from long-term care facilities, officials said.

Summary of Monroe’s COVID-19 case data from March 14 to April 23 revealed 223, 56%, of the cases are woman with an average age of 65, and 175, 44%, are men with an average age of 63. Recovery data is not available.

As of April 23, the township’s testing site at MyInstaDoc has tested 1,684 patients and 32.6% of the tests have come back positive.

The COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road, serves pre-registered patients from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and drive-up patients from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays.
