American-themed event May 2 will raise funds, donations for Keyport, Old Bridge food banks

John Merla, chairman of the “Friends Of The Bayshore” and Mark Razzoli, Ward 4 councilman in Old Bridge, will join hands to raise funds and food donations for the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry and the Old Bridge Food Bank.

A local DJ James Gallo, or Sway Jay, will donate his services and provide an American-themed event between noon to 2 p.m., May 2 on the top deck of Old Glory Kitchen and Spirits, 84 Broad Street, Keyport.

An air drone will bring the event to Facebook Live. Old Glory Kitchen will have food specials all day during the event.

Merla and Razzoli said people can drive through the parking lot of Old Glory Kitchen and drop off donations. Someone will be stationed in the parking lot with a large bucket.

A second way to donate is directly through the food banks. Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry is located at 42 Elizabeth Street, Keyport NJ, 07735. For more information contact Isaiah Cooper, director of the food pantry, at 732-888-1986.

The Old Bridge Food Bank is located at 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge NJ, 08857. For more information contact Ana Feltz at 732-721-5600 ext. 2022.

Merla and Razzoli recognized Old Glory Kitchen and Spirits, DJ Sway Jay or James Gallo, Police Lt. Steve Dixon of the Keyport Police Deptartment, Jay Faltings for the video drone and volunteer Steven S. as balloon artist and services for making the event happen.
