EAST BRUNSWICK–East Brunswick extended a grace period of one month past the May 1 property tax bill deadline.

Business Administrator Joseph Criscuolo said in a prepared statement that the grace period which would have ordinarily been May 11 is now officially extended to June 1.

The council approved the resolution during a special council meeting on May 4 via video conference.

Criscuolo said this change is permitted by Executive Order No. 130 from Gov. Phil Murphy and applies only to the May 1 tax bill.

“We hope that this will allow a little more time for those with significant financial hardships and/or those waiting for unemployment during this most unprecedented time,” Criscuolo said in the statement.
