Edison officials report 32 new positive COVID-19 cases, mayor recognizes National Nurses Week

EDISON – Edison officials reported 32 new positive cases of COVID-19 on May 7. bringing the total number of cases to 1,580, according to the Edison Office of Emergency Management.

The age range of the cases are 20 to 97, officials said. The township has lost 81 residents to COVID-19, according to Middlesex County.

Mayor Thomas Lankey, through a proclamation on May 6, recognized National Nurses Week. He asked residents to join in honoring the healthcare heroes.

The Edison Police Department recognized Diane Vanderhoof in a social media post for her donation of N95 Masks and face shields to the department.

Edison Township was not provided any other information regarding the new cases.
