METUCHEN – Metuchen has 109 total confirmed positive COVID-19 cases as of May 8, which includes two deaths, according to information provided by Middlesex County.

SEWA International set up a drive-in personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution event on May 8 in the borough’s senior center parking lot. Some 30,000 supplies were distributed to governmental entities throughout New Jersey.

Mayor Jonathan Busch said in a social media post officials are “so grateful to the many people and organizations who continue to provide PPE to our borough’s first responders and community medical professionals throughout this pandemic.”

He also recognized many community service organizations including the Indian Business Association, IBA NJ, Mandarin Academy of Metuchen, Metuchen Chinese American Community, and the Neve Shalom Early Childhood Center for their generous donations of supplies in April and May.
