The township announced the cancellation of the annual Memorial Day Parade, which was scheduled for May 24, because of the public health emergency. Township officials have asked the community “to remember the magnitude of service all of our veterans have made, and especially those who tragically made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great country.”

The township will resume collecting cardboard from outside of the recycling container on regular recycling days starting May 20.

The South Edison Community Association (SECA) collected 23 truckloads of non-perishable food and helped to raise $25,000 in direct donations for more than 4,500 needy people and families who rely on the Hands of Hope Food Pantry in a community effort held at Edison High School on May 9. The food pantry is based at St. James Episcopal Church on Woodbridge Avenue.

Edison Township was not provided any other information regarding the new cases.
