Marlboro police investigating fatal collision

MARLBORO – Police in Marlboro are investigating a two-vehicle collision on Tennent Road which claimed the life of a 34-year-old Marlboro man on the afternoon of June 7.

As of June 8, police were not releasing the named of the deceased individual pending notification of additional family members, according to a press release.

Police said that at 4:05 p.m. June 7, officers from the Marlboro Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Tennent Road between Wooleytown and Greenwood roads.

Upon arrival, officers located a motorcycle lying in the middle of Tennent Road. Just north of the motorcycle, officers located an adult male wearing a helmet lying motionless in the road, according to the press release.

Police said the motorcycle had collided with another vehicle, identified as a Volvo S40, which was being driven by a 17-year-old male from Marlboro.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene of the collision by members of the Morganville First Aid Squad and paramedics. He was transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Volvo was uninjured in the accident, according to the press release.
