The number of Mercer County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 has reached 7,245 residents, including 510 residents who have died of COVID-19 complications, the New Jersey Department of Health announced June 10.
Included in the 510 deaths are 326 residents in 24 long-term care facilities in Mercer County who have succumbed to COVID-19 complications, the New Jersey Department of Health said. This means 64% of all COVID-19 related deaths in Mercer County occurred in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
The hardest hit long-term care facility in Mercer County is the Hamilton Continuing Care facility in Hamilton Township, which recorded 39 deaths among its 105 residents who tested positive for COVID-19.
St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall in Lawrence, the Greenwood House in Ewing and the Water’s Edge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton recorded 28 deaths each, according to the New Jersey Department of Health’s June 10 report.
There are 124 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among residents at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center, 96 cases at the Greenwood House and 111 cases at the Water’s Edge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Elsewhere in Mercer County, the Acorn Glen assisted living facility and the Princeton Care Center, both in Princeton, recorded seven deaths and 10 deaths, respectively. There have been 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Acorn Glen and 30 cases at the Princeton Care Center.
Clover Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lawrence reported 21 deaths among the 54 residents whose COVID-19 tests were positive.
The Meadow Lakes continuing care retirement community in East Windsor had nine deaths among the 29 residents who tested positive for COVID-19, and the Brandywine Living at Pennington had five deaths among 11 residents whose tests were positive for the disease.
