An application that proposes the construction of a car wash and oil change center in the Morganville section of Marlboro is scheduled to be heard by the Zoning Board of Adjustment on July 14.
The applicant, Tennent Road Wash and Lube, LLC, is represented by attorney Marc Policastro. The applicant is proposing to construct a 4,650-square-foot car wash and an oil change/lubrication service building.
The 1-acre property where the applicant is proposing to construct the business is at 6 Tennent Road, between Route 79 and Church Lane. The property is vacant and predominantly wooded. Parking for 12 vehicles is proposed at the location.
According to the application, a car wash and/or a vehicle service use is not a permitted principal, accessory or conditional use in Marlboro’s C-2 zone. The applicant will seek a use variance from the zoning board.
A sanitary sewer rehabilitation project in Freehold Township has been deemed complete by municipal officials.
On June 9, Township Committee members accepted the improvements and authorized a final payment to National Water Main Cleaning Company for sanitary sewer rehabilitation.
The contract was authorized in late 2019 and initially totaled $69,854. Municipal officials announced there was a $14,520 decrease in the contract due to as-built adjustment of quantities. The revised contract totaled $55,334.
National Water Main Cleaning Company was the lowest bidder when bids were accepted for the project. Other bids were submitted by SWERP Inc. ($84,800), Standard Pipe Services, LLC, ($108,400), and North American Pipeline Services, LLC, ($113,635).
In other business, committee members authorized a shared services agreement with Manalapan through which Freehold Township will provide a licensed registered environmental health specialist to its neighboring town.
On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture, Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone and Freeholder Lillian G. Burry recently received the donation of 2,000 cloth face masks, courtesy of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and Secretary Douglas H. Fisher, for the county’s agricultural community.
“The masks will help agricultural businesses throughout the county comply with COVID-19 guidelines implemented by the state,” Arnone said. “I commend the department for reaching out to our Board of Agriculture and would like to thank Secretary Fisher and his staff for assisting the county’s large community of growers.”
The department, in partnership with the New Jersey Agricultural Society and the New Jersey Farm Bureau, secured cloth face masks from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management to be used for agricultural purposes, according to a press release.
