East Brunswick offers more free swimming lessons

The East Brunswick Department of Parks and Recreation will hold two additional free swim lessons on Aug. 12 and 19 at Crystal Springs Family Waterpark, located at 380 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick, in conjunction with the YMCA and World Waterpark Association’s the World’s Largest Swim Lesson (WLSL).
Registration must be done online through the township’s website. Residents are only allowed to register and attend one session.
  • Each WLSL event is free
  • Open to all ages and families
  • There are two timeframes, which are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Limit of 25 people per timeframe in order to socially distance in the water.
  • Proper bathing attire is required.

Each session will be guided by the YMCA of East Brunswick professional staff, with the support of Crystal Springs Family Waterpark, of approximately 30-45 minutes of in-water instruction and skills in shallow water.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, created by the World Waterpark Association in 2010, is a global public relations event supported by aquatic facilities, waterparks, pools, swim schools, YMCAs, among others. The WLSL event serves as a platform to help the global aquatics industry work together to build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim to prevent drowning.
